Today Sustain for Life celebrates 20 years of walking alongside communities in the fight against extreme poverty. When our Founder first had a vision for this charity back in 2006, the goal was simple: help the poorest of the poor to sustain themselves. Two decades later, that original spark has grown into meaningful work across countries and countless lives touched.
Over the years, Sustain for Life has worked primarily in East and West Africa — including Uganda, Benin, Burkina Faso, Togo, Sierra Leone, Malawi, Liberia, and Guinea — and in earlier years also in India and Guyana, always focusing where poverty is deepest and opportunities fewest.
Through local partnerships and community-led projects, we’ve supported practical training in agriculture and nutrition, helped improve health and food security, and expanded access to water, education and skills development. A core part of this work has been reaching those often left behind — from SNE children and orphans to families living in extreme hardship.
To our Founder, Trustees, field partners, teachers, caregivers, donors, and long-time friends — thank you. Your belief in the work and your willingness to walk this path with us have made every milestone possible.
We are truly grateful for the first 20 years — and we look forward to what’s ahead.
With warm thanks,
The Sustain for Life Team
