Our Board of Trustees has approved a new project in Sierra Leone.

This project is called ”Capacity building for Blind and low vision pupils including teaching staff in adaptive technology” for The Koidu School in Sierra Leone.

This project is designed to equip blind and low vision pupils with 12 desktops giving them knowledge and skills to use computers, access emails and the internet independently. By the end of the project, 69 blind and low vision pupils and teachers will be empowered with computer knowledge and skills which they can use to access emails and the internet independently.

The project is the same model used in 2019 at the Milton Margay School – Freetown and we will use the trainers from there to train the trainers of Koidu School. Dr. Cristian Bernareggi, our expert in Adaptive Technology does support the school remotely.
