Creation of a SNE section

Project Overview

In our district, over 150 children with Special Needs (SNE) have been identified across multiple schools. Currently, there is no single school equipped with a dedicated Special Needs Unit, leaving these children underserved and without the specialized support they require.

Because these students are scattered across different institutions, they are not receiving consistent care, attention, or appropriate learning resources. Additionally, the proposed host school lacks the infrastructure necessary to provide safe and inclusive boarding facilities.

This project aims to bridge that gap by establishing a dedicated boarding unit and support system tailored to children with special needs.

The Need

  • No specialized Special Needs Unit exists in the district
  • Over 150 identified SNE children lack proper support
  • Children are dispersed across schools, limiting effective care
  • No boarding infrastructure for SNE learners
  • Lack of trained personnel and essential learning resources

Project Activities

To address these challenges, Sustain for Life will implement the following:

Infrastructure Development

  • Construction of 2 dormitories
    • One for boys
    • One for girls
  • Construction of a dining hall and kitchen

Provision of Essential Supplies

  • Beds and bedding:
    • Mattresses
    • Blankets
    • Bedsheets
    • Mosquito nets

Educational Support

  • Sponsorship of SNE children for 3 years
  • Recruitment and support of a qualified Braille teacher
