Sustain for Life has rehabilitated 4 classrooms whose roofs were blown off by a storm. This phase will rehabilitate the remaining 4 classrooms in order to offer a good learning environment for the students. Specifically, the problems being addressed are:

  • Blown off roofs of a 4-classroom block due to the storm
  • Lack of shelter forcing learners to study under trees
  • Interference of the learning process by weather conditions, especially during the rainy season
  • Poor performance of learners
  • High illiteracy levels in the community around the school
  • Increased early pregnancies and marriages due to insufficient education facilities
  • Insecure learning environment due to lack of fencing
  • Lack of windbreakers to control storms
  • Inadequate accommodation for teacher

    Project Activities

    • Rehabilitation of a 4-classroom block
    • Construction of 2 blocks with 4 toilet stalls each for girls and boys
    • Construction of 2 blocks with 4 shower stalls each for girls and boys
    • Construction of 10 staff housing units
    • Provision of 240 student desks and 7 bookshelves
